Amsterdam canal houses

When I was in cafe in the heart of Amsterdam I saw through the window beautiful houses. I made a photo, thinking that later I can make a drawing from it.

When it came to media I decided to go for color pencils. It was a double challenge, because I had not had any experience in architectural drawing. And I drawn only dessert by color pencils so far. However, I went for it.

It took a while to figure out how to draw what I had in mind, but I am very happy with a result.

The outcome is that I am not afraid this kind of drawing anymore. I learnt a lot, so probably next piece will be better. And it looks so cool, in my opinion!

Materials:

• Canson Watercolor A4 300g paper (took it by mistake, next time I will go for smoother paper)
• Prismacolor color pencils
